The iPad is Here!

The international launch of iPad has finally come! And, this blog post is my first iPad-written post. I've been busy trying to test it out and experiment with a variety of apps. I hope to write more about it soon!

iPad and iMindMap

iMindMap for iPad
Mind mapping software that you can touch!
I've been using iMindMap by Tony Buzan (the one who made mind mapping popular in our time) --- on my Macbook. And, while it's not perfect, it is one of the first mind mapping software that I've really enjoyed using.

Today, I heard about iMindMap's plans of coming up with an iPad version. Yay! They say it's meant to have a similar, but "powered up" feel compared to their iMindMap mobile version (for the iPhone). I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Definitely another iPad app in my "must check out" list that seems to be growing everyday.

An iPad for My Birthday!

Dear iPad,
Yes, You Will Be Mine
(soon-ish, I hope)!

Just when I thought I'd pass up on the first generation iPad, my husband surprised me today with a piece of paper for my birthday. A piece of paper that declares that indeed, an iPad has been reserved especially for me.

Yes, reserved.

You see, while our American friends have all enjoyed the launch of the much-awaited iPad just a few days ago, we here in Australia still need to wait a bit. We don't even get a launch date yet. Just the promise of "late in April".

The only consolation for some folks is that at least, the iPad with 3G will be launched at the same time. Not that that makes any difference with me, as I think I'm just getting the wireless version. 64 Gig, though, so I'm not complaining.

I suppose, it's okay for us to wait a bit longer, especially since Apple hasn't really gotten around to having a fully functioning iBooks for us Down Under anyway. But, I heard that Apple IS looking for an iBooks Manager in Asia Pacific and Canada to be based either in Sydney or Toronto. How they figure that will work is beyond me, but as long as I get me some iBooks when the iPad gets here, I'll leave the nitty gritty details to the ones getting my hard earned Aussie dollars.

But yeah, I can't wait!

How about you? Are you getting the iPad? (Don't rub it in if you already have one, please! ;-))

Hello and Welcome to Mac-Grrl!

I've become a Mac Grrl in 2007. Of course, thanks to the iPod, I think I've been introduced to Apple, Inc's products a year or two before that.

Getting my first Macbook early in 2007, however, began my love affair with all things Mac.

This is my space on the web where I hope to collect different Mac tools, tips, and tricks. Some are linked to expert advice, others are those that I have sort of figured out myself and decided to write about and share. You'll also find some Mac app reviews and other Apple-related matters.

The twist? Well, I'll be covering the whole thing from an Asia Pacific perspective.

Of course, I'd still be covering all things Mac and Apple, Inc from around the world whenever possible. But, my eye is on making sure that the stuff from this part of the world gets covered.
